Shape up for your summer bod!

 We all love to indulge in a few treats here and there but still hope for that perfect body. I've taken a keen interest in healthy eating and exercise recently and surprisingly have seen change already. Not only does it help keep you fit but it also helps your skin and body feel hydrated and refreshed. I have a few tips that I'd like to share that helped me lose them unwanted pounds and hope they can help you too.
  1. Drink water. This may seem like an obvious for most but this is the main key to achieving a good body Aim to have a glass of water for every pound you weigh.
  2. Eat Breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of your day. It helps speed up your metabolism and helps kick start your day.
  3. Exercise. Aim to exercise ATLEAST 3 times a week for about 40 mins. Do as much cardio as you can. 
  4. Avoid white bread, fried food and sugary goods. You are allowed a treat once in a while but remember to not get carried away. If you are a lover of all things sweet aim to have only ONE treat a week. 

Exercise options: 
If you are not a fan of the gym Pilates, spinning classes, yoga and swimming could be some useful alternatives for you.

Indoor workout:

5 sets of...
  • Jumping Jacks x50
  • Squat jumps x15
  • Crunches x10
  • Calf Raises x15
  • Push ups x20
  • Lunges x10
This may seem like basic information to you but if you can stick to this properly I'm sure you will see results in your body. I hope this helps! Stay focused!

Kitchen Beautician: Lip Scrub

Dry chapped lips are not good for all the bright-colored lips that are so en vogue this Summer. But luckily, we can all head over to our kitchens or grocery stores and tackle it head on. Here are two solutions, depending on how bad the damage is.



Pretty Sweet



Ingredients:
- One teaspoon Brown Sugar
- One teaspoon Honey
- One teaspoon Olive Oil or Petroleum Jelly

Method:
1) Mix the brown sugar and honey together to create a paste and thickly coat your lips.
2) Leave it on for a few minutes then start gently scrubbing with your finger until all the dead skin has been buffed off. Immediately dab on olive oil or lip balm to moisturize.

Oh So Coco



Ingredients:
- One teaspoon Sea Salt
- One teaspoon Coconut Butter or Coconut Oil

Method:


Mix the two together then pat on your lips and gently scrub in circular motion until it’s as smooth as a baby’s…

Now your lipsticks will glide on as it should! Repeat daily until you feel your old pout is back.

Words of Wisdom

Life's Little Instruction Book.

There’s a reason that they call it "beauty sleep." Getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night can actually improve your appearance. While you’re sleeping your body releases human growth hormones. This helps your body create collagen, which gives your skin strength and elasticity.




While you are dreaming away, your skin cells are regenerating and all the muscles in your face that create wrinkles begin to relax.

While the recommended hours of sleep you should be getting each night is between 7 and 9, this just simply isn’t a reality for some of you busy ladies. So just think of this as a reason to catch up on weekends.

Here is a quick and easy recipe for a do it yourself scrub: DIY Lemon Scrub.


Ingredients:

- 5 tablespoons sea salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lemon

Method:

1) Mix the olive oil and sea salt together.
2) Cut the lemon in half and squeeze over the salt + oil.

..All you need to do next is mix and mash and scrub away!! :)
